Two families contacted me last month with heartbreaking stories. The first had just spent $8,000 on hip surgery for their two-year-old Golden Retriever, a dog they’d bought from what seemed like a reputable breeder. The second family was dealing with severe aggression issues in their supposedly “family-friendly” puppy, now requiring professional behavioral intervention.
